Privacy policy
Effective October 21, 2026
Short version: a parent’s account holds the family’s data, kids don’t get accounts, we don’t sell data or show ads, coaches see only what the family allows, and you can delete it.
Who we are
Ramp Up Athlete is operated by [legal entity name], [street address, city], Texas [ZIP], phone [phone], email privacy@rampupathlete.com. No other company collects information from children through the app. This policy covers the app and this website. Information about children is covered in more detail in our children’s privacy notice, and health information in our consumer health data policy.
Who can have an account
Accounts are for adults 18 and older: parents or legal guardians, and team coaches. Children use the app only inside a parent’s account, in Player mode.
What we collect
From the parent or coach
- Email address and password (the password is stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider).
- Family name, and a record of your agreement to our policies (date, version, and how you agreed).
- For coaches: team name, season, age group, and team events — including a game or practice location if the coach adds one.
About a player, entered by the parent (or by the child in Player mode)
- First name (last name optional), birthday, jersey number, positions, throwing and batting hand, and an optional photo.
- Baseball and training data: pitch counts, games and stats, practice logs, test results (speed, velocity, jumps), height and weight.
- Health and wellness entries: injuries, daily arm feel, sleep, energy and water, and mental check-ins (including any notes typed in). See our consumer health data policy.
- Videos the family records or uploads, and video-check results: the timing of key moments and measurements such as stride length and joint angles.
Automatically
- Technical logs our host keeps to run and secure the service (for example sign-in times, IP address and error reports). We don’t use advertising or analytics trackers.
- If you sign in with Google: your name, email address and Google account ID from Google, used only to sign you in.
- If you add a team calendar link or connect GroupMe: the link, and the times, opponents and places of games and practices. Event descriptions and team rosters aren’t kept. A GroupMe connection’s key stays on your phone only, is used only to read the team group’s Calendar events, and chat messages are never read.
- Your device’s approximate location, only when you tap “Show the weather here” in Game day or “Use weather near me” on a game. It’s sent to the weather service for that one lookup; we don’t store it.
How the video check works
The video check measures body positions on your device to give swing and pitch feedback. We don’t use it to recognize who someone is, and we don’t store body landmarks — only the timings and measurements listed above. The video files themselves are stored in your family’s private storage so you can watch and compare them.
How we use information
Only to run the app for your family and team: work out pitching status and rest days, show progress, run video checks, share with a coach when you choose, answer your requests, and keep the service secure. We don’t use anyone’s information for advertising, we don’t build marketing profiles, and we don’t sell or “share” personal data for targeted advertising.
There are things we won’t build: no player rankings, no “scholarship odds,” and no automatic emails to college coaches for a minor. The app helps the family keep a clean history the player owns.
Who receives it
- Your family: the parents on your family account.
- Team coaches you choose: when you add your child to a team, its coaches see pitching safety, games and the team schedule. Video, growth numbers and mental check-ins only if you turn each one on. You can turn sharing off or leave the team at any time.
- People you share with: when you tap Share (a status message, report image or clip link), you choose the recipient. Clip links stop working after 2 days.
- Our hosting provider, Supabase, which stores the database, sign-in and files for us under a data processing agreement and may use them only to provide that service. Data is stored in [the United States — confirm region].
- Services your device contacts when you use a feature: for games in the next few days, OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) receives the field’s name to find it on the map and Open-Meteo receives the field’s coordinates for the forecast — no names or account details; YouTube (Google) receives your device’s IP address when you play a drill video, using its privacy-enhanced player. Their own privacy policies apply.
- The law: if required by a valid legal request, or to protect someone’s safety.
How long we keep it
- Entries, clips and photos: until you delete them, or until the account is deleted.
- Inactive accounts: deleted after 24 months with no sign-in. We email you 30 days before.
- Deleted accounts: removed within 30 days of your request; backup copies are overwritten within a further 30 days.
- Consent records (including signed consent forms): kept while the account exists and deleted with it.
Your choices and rights
- See and export your data in the app (menu › Export all data).
- Correct or delete any entry or clip in the app. To delete a player or the whole account, email privacy@rampupathlete.com from the account’s email address.
- Turn coach sharing on or off for each kind of data, or leave a team.
- State privacy rights. Residents of Texas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Washington and other states with privacy laws can ask to access, correct, delete or get a copy of their personal data. We answer within 45 days. If we turn down a request you can appeal by replying to our answer; if we deny the appeal you may contact your state Attorney General. We don’t sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. The database lets each family read only its own data, and team access is checked by the database itself. We keep a written security program and will notify affected people of a data breach as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before it takes effect. A change in how we use children’s information needs a parent’s new consent before it applies.
