Questions parents and coaches ask

Pitching and safety
How does Ramp Up Athlete know if my kid can pitch today?
It adds up the pitches you’ve logged and applies MLB/USA Baseball Pitch Smart limits for your player’s age, plus the rules of any leagues you add — and shows the strictest answer. See the full limits and rest days.
Which leagues’ pitch rules are included?
Little League, PONY, Cal Ripken / Babe Ruth, USSSA and Perfect Game, on top of Pitch Smart. Choose them on Edit player.
Can I count pitches during the game?
Yes. Game day mode is a big Ball / Strike / In play clicker that shows pitches left and stops at the limit. The count stays on the phone until you save it, even if the phone locks.
I’m a coach without a kid on the team. How do I get in?
Sign up and choose “I coach a team”. You go straight to starting your team (or joining as an assistant with the head coach’s code). There’s no family form to fill in.
I’m a parent and I coach. Do I need two accounts?
No. Choose both “I’m a parent or guardian” and “I coach a team”. You set up your family and player, then your team with your player already on it. Switch between Parent and Coach view from the menu.
How does the other parent (or a grandparent) get in?
Menu › Invite a parent › Send invite. They sign up, choose “The other parent already set us up” and enter the code. They see and log for the same players with their own sign-in. The person who set up the family can remove anyone or make a new code.
How are the weekly workouts picked?
From your player’s schedule (games and practices), age, positions, arm feel and sleep check-ins, any injury, and whether it’s a school or test week. Heavy leg work and jumps stay at least two days from a game, the day after pitching is recovery, there’s at least one full rest day, and school nights are shorter. Tap a day to change it; the rest of the week adjusts. Doses follow NSCA, USA Baseball and ACSM youth guidance.
Can I log hitting and fielding during the game?
Yes. Open Game day and pick Hitting or Fielding. One tap per at-bat or play goes straight into today’s box score, and Undo fixes a wrong tap.
Is this medical advice?
No. It’s a planning tool built on published guidelines. Elbow or shoulder pain means stop throwing and see a doctor; the app blocks pitching until you mark an injury healed.
Kids, coaches and privacy
Does my child need an account?
No. Only parents have accounts. Kids use Player mode on the family phone — a simpler view they can’t leave without the parent’s PIN.
What can my kid’s team coach see?
A coach always sees pitching safety, games and the schedule for players on their team. Video, growth numbers and mental check-ins are shared only if your family turns each one on, and you can turn them off any time.
Where do videos go?
Clips are saved in your family’s private storage. The swing and pitch check runs on your phone. You can delete a clip any time.
Do you sell data or show ads?
No. There are no ads and we don’t sell or rent anyone’s data. Read the privacy policy and children’s privacy notice.
How do I delete my family’s data?
Delete single entries or clips in the app, or email privacy@rampupathlete.com from your account email and we’ll delete the account and everything in it within 30 days.
Using the app
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes — it runs in any phone or computer browser today, and iPhone and Android apps are on the way.
Can it record slow motion?
The app’s camera records at the fastest rate the phone allows inside the app (usually 30–60 frames a second) and the check steps through every frame. For true slow motion, film in the phone’s Camera app on Slo-Mo and add the clip from your library.
Can I import stats from GameChanger or a radar gun?
Yes. Import box-score screenshots in Game stats, and import Pocket Radar, Blast or Rapsodo CSV exports in a speed test.
Can I track more than one kid?
Yes. Add each player from the menu and switch between them at the top of the app.
How does a coach set up a team?
Open Team › Start a team, then send families the team code. Each family adds their player with the code and chooses what to share.
Can I add games to my phone’s calendar?
Yes. On any game or practice in the schedule, tap Calendar to add it to your phone’s calendar app (on a computer it opens in Apple Calendar, Outlook or Google Calendar). Whole schedule (.ics) adds everything at once.
Can the schedule fill itself in from GameChanger or GroupMe?
Yes. In Today › Next up › Team calendar link, paste the team’s calendar link from GameChanger (team › gear icon › Schedule Sync › Copy Calendar Link), TeamSnap or SportsEngine. For GroupMe, paste your access token once (from dev.groupme.com) and pick the team group; events on the group’s Calendar tab sync by themselves. Coaches’ messages can be pasted or, on Android, shared into the app. Perfect Game has no calendar link, so copy its schedule and use Paste a schedule.
What does the coach-ready score on a video mean?
A 0–100 guide to how the swing, pitch or play would look to a coach, from the checkpoints the camera could measure. Checks the camera wasn’t sure of count less, and arm checks judged by eye don’t count. Slow-motion video gives a firmer score. It’s a guide to look at with a coach, not a grade.
